Israel: The Ministry of Health banned prescribing Ozempic for those who want to lose weight

Israel’s Ministry of Health has ordered that Ozempic be discontinued for patients who want to lose weight due to oversupply, which has led to a shortage of the drug in the country.

Ozempic is a diabetic drug launched in 2019 with one of the side effects of which is appetite suppression and weight loss. After the publication of an American study on this topic, it became very popular among those who want to lose weight.

Now doctors will be able to prescribe it only to diabetics and those who have already started taking it for weight loss.
