Knesset members, by 17 votes, with no abstentions or votes against, approved in the final reading the amendment to the Law on Banning Advertising and Restricting the Marketing of Tobacco Products.
The amendment introduces mandatory placement of images depicting the negative effects of smoking on the human body on tobacco product packaging, authorizing the Minister of Health to determine the size, location, design and frequency of changes to the images.
Let us remind you that at the moment in Israel all tobacco products are sold in black packs without images or logos and with a warning about the dangers of smoking to health.
