How will you recognize if abdominal fat is putting you at risk? | Dr. Maya Roseman
Let’s start with the simple test: how do you check if there is abdominal fat? Simply measure the waist circumference with a tape measure – if it is over 88 cm in women there is a risk, or if it is over 102 cm in men.Using a non-elastic measuring tape (like the one used for sewing) when the measurement is made “halfway” between the lower rib and the femur. Another way to find the location of the measurement: in a standing position, bend the body to the side – in the place where the indentation was created during the bending – that is where the tape measure is placed. Return to standing straight and measure the circumference in this position around the body.

A more accurate test is the circumference of the waist relative to our height – calculators: circumference of the waist – parts of height (in cm):

0.4 to 0.5 – normal

0.6 and above – high risk of health problems.

According to the exact measure, a woman with a height of 160 cm is at increased health risk if her waist circumference is greater than 80 cm.

What is the solution?

A diet with few sugars (including fructose, the fruit sugar) and carbohydrates, and if there are carbohydrates at all, make sure only high-quality carbohydrates.
