One woman's power of compassion: Deborah Sherer collects food packages for bereaved families who donated organs
Deborah Sherer, a media woman and spokeswoman for the National Transplantation Center, collects, as every year, also for the upcoming Passover, food packages for bereaved families who donated organs and saved lives and are in financial distress.

Throughout the year, Deborah Sherer maintains warm and close ties with bereaved families who, in the most difficult moments of their lives, donated organs of their deceased loved ones.

After these special families saved the lives of thousands in need of organ transplants, through the heroic act of organ donation, in the long run the public does not remember them and the economic situation of some of them is deteriorating.

Deborah Sherer did not forget them for a moment. In preparation for Passover, she turned to her personal friends and various organizations in the Israeli economy to collect food packages for those families and they all immediately responded to her request.

Deborah Sherer: “It’s hard for me to hear that someone who helped and contributed wholeheartedly to others and society in Israel on an altruistic level, will be left without food for the holiday.”

As of today, Sherer has managed to raise over 2,000 food packages. The collection of the food packages is done completely voluntarily, in Deborah’s private time and without actually being made public.
