Werder Bremen: Goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka extends contract for the Bundesliga – Bundesliga

Bundesliga done! This finally gives clarity as to where Werder will play next season. The bosses will now put together a roster that can compete in the House of Lords over the next few weeks.

A challenge. However, managing director Frank Baumann and professional boss Clemens Fritz have already planned ahead. This is supported by the fact that there is clarity about a person’s position fairly quickly after promotion.

Pavlenka extends at Werder

Jiri Pavlenka (30) remains in Bremen – the goalkeeper has extended his expiring contract. The association announced this on Tuesday afternoon. Nothing is known about the term so far.

Pavlenka started the season with a back injury and in the meantime even lost his regular place to substitute goalkeeper Michael Zetterer (26). However, the Czech fought back and has started every game for Werder since the end of October 2021.

“I’m happy that my future lies with Werder,” says the goalkeeper. “My family and I feel at home in Bremen and at Werder, so this step was very easy for me. I’m really happy that we managed to get promoted and now I want to tackle the sporting challenges in the Bundesliga with Werder.”

Since Tuesday it has also been officially clear that Bayern loanee Lasse Mai, Roger Assalé and goalkeeper Luca Plogmann will no longer play for Werder in the future. The trio didn’t play any real role this season and are forced to leave the club as a result.
