AaB officially loses one of the club’s big profiles.

The North Jutland club thus states that first goalkeeper Jacob Rinne is leaving the club on a free transfer, and this annoys sports manager Inge André Olsen.

– AaB has over time been favored by talented goalkeepers, and Jacob Rinne has in the last five seasons proved to be perhaps the best of them all.

– I must be honest to say that it is a mystery to us that there has been no greater demand for Jacob’s qualities from abroad than has been the case, but it is also clear that we would have very much liked to extend the collaboration with him, he says.

The Swede came to AaB from Belgian football in 2017 and has so far reached 167 matches. It can become one more if FC Midtjylland wins the cup final over OB. In that case, AaB will have to play for a European place against Viborg, who finished seventh.

In 2021, he was hailed by colleagues with ‘The Golden Cage’, which is the nomination of the best goalkeeper of the year.

The plan is ready for the 29-year-old goalkeeper. He wants to go abroad.

– I think I have had a great time in AaB with a lot of good people around me both on and off the field, and therefore it has not been an easy decision to say goodbye to the club.

– But soon I will be 29 years old, and if I had to have another football experience in a new country, it was now, says Jacob Rinne.

Inge André Olsen has only praise left for his soon-to-be former goalkeeper.

– Both on and off the field, Jacob has always represented us in a distinguished way, and with this, a big thank you for the efforts for AaB and good luck with the future, he says.

Jacob Rinne has a contract expiration, and therefore AaB does not have to collect a transfer fee for the profile.
