Sir Mo Farah has expressed his relief that the Home Office has no plans to take action against him, after he revealed shockingly that he was brought to the UK illegally as a child.

Mohamed Farah, 39, a four-time Olympic champion, said he owed his life to so many people and they gave him strength to talk about his past.

Farah revealed in a BBC documentary titled “The Real Mo Farah” about how he was brought to Britain from Somalia illegally, after obtaining a name for another child, after his father was killed in the civil war. “He’s a champion athlete, he’s an inspiration to people across the country,” a government spokesman at 10 Downing Street said of the Olympic champion.

When asked whether the Ministry of Interior would take any measures against Farah, he said: “Certainly not.”

“I think the Home Office has been very clear that no action will be taken against Sir Mo and this is in line with the directives,” he said.
