Lilli Tagger is higher in the world rankings than ever before

Linz quarterfinalist Lilli Tagger has proven itself despite the first round elimination Rouen improved by a further six places in the latest tennis world rankings. The 18-year-old East Tyrolean is now 91st, better than ever before in the WTA rankings.

Tagger, who took a break this week, will now play in the WTA125 Challenger in France next week Saint-Malo and then she will start qualifying at the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome. She has her ticket for the main French Open competition.

By the way, there are currently only two Austrians left in the top 100: Linz finalist Anastasia Potapova ranks as the best ÖTV representative in 56th place. Julia Grabher lost eight positions and is now 107th, while Sinja Kraus has now moved closer to the top 100 as 104th. Potapova and Kraus will play qualifying in Madrid this week (with a possible second-round duel), Grabher will face local hero Paula Badosa in the first round of the main competition.

Also in Madrid is Austria’s number one men’s, Sebastian Ofnerat the start. The Styrian, who slipped into the field thanks to cancellations and has improved to 83rd place in the ATP rankings, will meet a qualifier in the first round.
