The silent side of Jesse Puljujärvi was revealed

The lions top striker Jesse Puljujärvi now shines brighter than ever in the last ten years. The striker, who is sparkling in the first chain of the Lions, is at the top of the World Cup tournament’s points market.

Vili Saarijärvi however, reveals that Puljujärvi also has a completely different side.

“He has a lot of smile and energy, but sometimes Jesse is completely different. He also has a really calm side,” says Saarijärvi.

“When Jesse goes into the ‘zone’, he’s really calm and focused. It’s a side that many people don’t necessarily know or know how to associate with Puljujärvi. And it’s not just before games, but every day.”

Saarijärvi already got to know Puljujärvi during his junior years in Oulu. The two were also winning together the youth WC gold in the 2016 tournament, where Puljujärvi shone the previous time in this model as now in Zurich.

Today, the old friends play together in Geneva – and in the national team.

“I still see a lot of the same Jesse in him as when we were 15. It’s been great to see that Jesse hasn’t changed at all,” says Saarijärvi.

“With his personality, Jesse always brings teammates together and gets along great with everyone.”

The difficult ones after the last few years, Puljujärvi has found his place again this season as a top striker who produces hard results.

Saarijärvi says that he noticed at the beginning of the season that Puljujärvi’s confidence was not necessarily very high.

“It’s fun to watch Pulju’s work as he presses on and does everything to the last. He is a really passionate trainer, as many know,” says Annunen.

“On top of that, all kinds of things happen, but I won’t reveal the details,” Annunen adds with a laugh.

Laughter and smiles are often repeated when you ask your friends about Puljujärvi. He seems to create joy and positivity around him.

“Jesse has always just been himself. It’s great to see that he’s still the same guy as when we were younger, when we played in Kärpi at the same time.”

“Especially when a guy is going, it’s so nice to watch. You can see now that his confidence is at its peak. The guy is flying on the ice, creating chances and scoring goals. It’s amazing to watch,” Annunen says.

The NHL host of the Lions defense Nikolas Matipalo says that he is sitting in the dressing room next to Puljujärvi.
