The expert does not believe in Saga Vanninen’s journey to the European Championship

“Pretty miracles have to happen if he is going to be part of Birmingham. Vanninen himself has said that his shoulder has been bothering him for a year. There is a very small chance that it would suddenly get better in two months.”

“The point is also that he should get in shape. Vannisen has not performed properly even in those sports in which the shoulder injury has no significance. If his shoulder had been really sore from the beginning of the match over the weekend, he probably wouldn’t have even gone to Austria. It doesn’t look good for the European Championships.”

Can peaks of Vanninen’s level lead to tourist trips to value competitions?

“It depends on the athlete. Vanninen did say when he left for Götzis that he doesn’t know what condis is, but he’s going to have fun. It probably wasn’t a lot of fun there with those results.”

“However, I can’t believe that Vanninen would go to the European Championships in this condition. Besides, the level in Europe seems to be so tough that it would certainly be difficult for him to reach the top places even in super condition,” Hollo points out.

Expert says that Vanninen’s weak situation in athletics circles came from a joke. The competitor did not participate in the World Indoor Athletics Championships in March. Last year, he won the WC and EC gold in the hall.

“Last season went relatively well for Vannis until the end, and he finished seventh in the World Championships with the second best result of his career.
