Jarkko Nieminen’s fund supports young tennis players

Finland The Tennis Support Foundation has established Jarkko Nieminen of the named fund, with which it supports young tennis players aiming for the international top.

More than one million euros have been collected in the first phase of the fund. The financiers are eight private donors and the Suomen Tennis Support Foundation.

Each supporter commits to an annual donation of 25,000 euros for a period of five years. The foundation distributes 225,000 euros annually from the fund.

The money will be directed to the development of the players at the international level, player support and coaching skills.

The fund bears Jarkko Nieminen’s name in honor of his career. In July 2006, Nieminen rose to number 13 on the ATP list, which is the best singles ranking in Finnish tennis.

The promontory has made his name available to the fund, but does not participate in support decisions. The foundation’s board is responsible for decisions.

“The road to the top requires long-term work and people who believe in the player and enable development at different stages. I greatly appreciate the fact that my name is attached to the fund,” says Nieminen in the foundation’s press release.

The fund’s operations will start in July. The first year’s support decisions are scheduled to be published by the end of August.

CEO of the Tennis Foundation and the Finnish Tennis Association Teemu Purhon according to the aim is to get more private supporters involved later.
