The Ivorian winger Yan Diomande was officially presented this Tuesday as a new Real Madrid player, in an event with the club’s president, Florentino Pérez, where he signed the contract that binds him to the capital team until 2033.
“Real Madrid City hosted the official welcome ceremony for Yan Diomande as a Real Madrid player. President Florentino Pérez received him in the boardroom, where the forward signed the contract that will bind him to the club for the next seven seasons, until June 30, 2033,” the white club announced.
Diomande completed the presentations that Madrid carried out in recent days, of its six signings, pending the end of this summer’s market, and the new coach José Mourinho. After the signing, Diomande received a replica of the stadium, a watch and a shirt with his name and the number 25. The honorary president, José Martínez Pirri, also attended the event.
The 19-year-old footballer from the Ivory Coast was one of the sensations of the recent World Cup and signed for Madrid from German side RB Leipzig. Diomande made his debut in an official match with Mourinho’s team in last Saturday’s League match against Espanyol, coming out in the last minutes to participate in the 1-2 victory at the RCDE Stadium.
“First of all I would say that I am proud, because this is the biggest club in the world. Nowadays, everyone dreams of playing for Real Madrid, it is a pride and honor to be here. I am going to give everything,” he said in statements to RealMadrid TV.
Diomande appeared in the white club’s trophy room. “Seeing all these trophies makes you want to get one. It’s very exciting to fight to win the Champions League. What has marked me the most is the mere fact of being in the same locker room as the best players in the world, being trained by the best in the world, it’s incredible, it’s like a dream,” he added.
