Lotito: "I didn’t report anyone but I suffered 3 years of threats"

The president of Lazio, Claudio Lotito, has returned to talk about the investigation by the Rome Prosecutor’s Office for market manipulation, opened to verify whether pressure was brought to bear on the sale of the Biancoceleste club.

“I have not reported anyone. However, I have reported everything that I have suffered in these three years and suffered in silence, stuff that you cannot even imagine”, stated Lotito, who then added: “I have never given names and surnames to the investigators. Bisignani, Masi, Maiolini? I have presented complaints against unknown personsthose names came out of the investigation. And if, as I have read, these gentlemen want to take legal action, they are completely free to do so. There are no revenge to take and no settling of accounts with anyone, I would just like to continue doing my job well.”

The threats received by Lotito

On threatsthe Biancoceleste owner said: “It was continuous, day and night, even at Christmas, New Year’s Eve, the Befana, my escort knows this well because many times they were the ones listening to the calls”.

Lotito then turned to the organized supporters who deserted the Olympic stadium and asked them to apologise: “I ask Excuse me for something for which I feel responsible, for mistakes made, for example some technical choices I endorsed in the past, don’t ask me which ones. I wrote an open letter to the fans and it may happen that some of my statements have been interpreted differently. I will continue to work to improve this aspect as well. But let everyone know that every choice I make is always oriented exclusively towards the good of Lazio.”
