Napoli show in Monza, Allegri serves poker

The Napoli returns to success in the championship and beats away Monza 4-1. Four goals, one better than the other, for a team that found its determination and put on a great show already in the first twenty minutes of the start of the second half. The away team took the lead in the 10th minute with a central strike by Hojlund. The first half ends at 1-1 after Varela’s eighth goal of the league (header from a perfect cross by Robinson).

Napoli, injury for Lobotka

The Neapolitans went on the attack even without midfielder Lobotka, who was forced off on a stretcher in the 17th minute of the match due to an injury sustained on the pitch. “In the second we grew and the 2-1 gave us confidence. We finished well, it was important to win, now we prepare for the next one.” Thus Napoli’s assistant coach, Marco Landucci, speaking to Sky Sport, after the championship victory against Monza.

“This team beat Bodo and did well against Roma – he adds -. McTominay was out for a month and then needed another month to recover, Anguissa had problems and was out. We need to avoid those goals that we concede, but we are working on it. We are very satisfied with this victory”.

There remains concern for midfielder Lobotka, who came off in the first half due to injury: “I don’t know exactly what he has, but he’s definitely not well. His ankle was damaged in a tackle, he’ll have tests tomorrow.” A very successful match for a Napoli team who were irresistible on the pitch this evening. “You have to think game by game – warns goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, again interviewed by Sky Sport. “The more victories you win, the more enthusiasm there is. Now we have two very difficult games and we have to collect points in those, without looking too far ahead.”

After a balanced first half, in the second half the Neapolitans overwhelm their opponent by making the most of their technical quality and the difference in value of the additions from the bench. This is how they arrive first Politano’s network, certainly among the best of the Azzurri, then also author of the assist directly from a corner for the 3-1 scored by Marin. The final seal is of De Bruyne, he came on in place of Anguissa who got the better of a Monza team who tried to react but without moving forward and with a poor defence.

“We deserved something more. The goals we conceded were our gifts. Sometimes we forget some things, but I still have a good first half with the opposing goalkeeper who saved several scoring opportunities. I saw many things we need to work on and improve.” This is the immediate comment from Monza coach Ivan Juric, who adds regarding Varela, the team’s revelation striker: “He is good and what I like most is that there is a lot of room for improvement and he works every day to do so. He will certainly go far.”
