Nadal defeats Wawrinka in the Hurlingham exhibition match to demonstrate his feelings

In an exhibition match against Stan Wawrinka on Wednesday at London’s Hurlingham Club, Rafael Nadal appeared to be in fantastic shape and in good condition.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner played excellently as he defeated Wawrinka in the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic, played in brilliant conditions in west London, 6-2, 6-3, just over two weeks after receiving radiofrequency injections in his troublesome left foot.

Although Wawrinka threatened to break back in the second set, the 36-year-old played excellently the entire time, breaking in the second game on his way to a straightforward first set. He then drew away for a confidence-boosting victory as he prepares for Wimbledon next week.

Nadal will be the No. 2 seed at Wimbledon, where he will attempt to win the third leg of the Grand Slam for the calendar year, if he gets through the remainder of this week without any problems.

Earlier this month, Rafael Nadal won his 14th Roland-Garros championship, putting him two Grand Slams ahead of Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
