Romania was drawn as the third opponent for the Austrian national handball team.
Austria’s national handball team for men has tough opponents for the on Wednesday European Championship preliminary round in January 2024 get drawn. In group B it will be in Mannheim against European Vice Champion Spain, Croatia and Romania go, that was the result of the draw in Düsseldorf. Croatia was nominally the strongest opponent from the third pot. The ÖHB selection needs the first or second place in the group to make it into the main round.
In Mannheim is played in the SAP Arena, which offers space for almost 15,000 people. Austria starts on January 12 against Romania, most recently the ÖHB selection had celebrated two victories in the European Championship qualification against the Southeast Europeans. At the January 14 it goes against Croatia and finally on January 16 against pool favorite Spain.
