It’s always difficult for her, Gina Lückenkemper said recently when people asked her where her home actually was. “Planet Earth,” she then thinks, because she’s been training in Florida for three years, sometimes dropping by in her home country in the west of Germany, sometimes in Bamberg, sometimes in Berlin. For her trainer Lance Brauman, who has set up a hub for his more than a dozen athletes in Florida, this makes the daily work quite challenging, on the other hand: Lückenkemper is already swarmed by enough amateur trainers in Germany, Brauman once joked, they knew exactly anyway what the 26-year-old has best to do.
