Fenerbahçe requests an investigation from TFF against Serkan Çınar, who stated that he was shown a different penalty position.

Former referee Serkan Cinar stated that in the Rizespor-Galatasaray match he managed in the 2018-19 season, the VAR referees presented a different image to him and a different image to the television in the potential penalty position. Following these statements, the yellow-dark blue club sent an open letter to the Turkish Football Federation to investigate the issue. Fenerbahçe Sports Club shared the letter on social media with the note: “We present to the attention of the public the letter sent by our General Secretary, Board Member Burak Kızılhan to the Turkish Football Federation Board of Directors.”

General Secretary and Board member of Fenerbahçe Burak KızılhanThe letter sent to the Turkish Football Federation was shared with the public.

After former referee Çınar announced his dialogue with VAR in the Çaykur Rizespor-Galatasaray match, the yellow-dark blue team announced that they applied to the TFF to initiate an investigation on the issue.

The yellow-dark blue team requested that TFF and MHK conduct investigations on the issue and share it with the public.

In the statement made by Fenerbahçe, the following statements were made:

“When the VAR referees of the match in question are examined, it is seen that they are the same names as the referees who were the subject of multiple applications made by our Club.

From Serkan Çınar’s statements, it is understood in full detail how the match referees influenced the match outcome by being manipulated by the referees in the VAR room.

As we insistently mention in every application, the claim that there is a group that uses Turkish refereeing for its own interests and has ambitions of designing our league is becoming a reality, moving away from allegation and doubt day by day.

At this point; While there are statements made by our Super League Clubs, former FIFA licensed referees and finally Serkan Çınar, it is unacceptable that a serious investigation has not been initiated yet.

Whereas; The fact that all these allegations focus on certain referees and that the names of certain referees are mentioned in every scandalous incident proves our claims.

Ultimately, we demand that your esteemed Federation take action in the face of serious allegations that have come to the public agenda in recent months, and that investigation processes be initiated by the relevant Federation boards, especially the Central Referee Board, without delay and announced to the public.”
