A sentimental finalist in the tennis classic

There were surprises Million double in Miami. With the American Danielle Collins An unseeded player played her way into the final. The now 30-year-old did this without any problems, she beat the Russian Jekaterina Alexandrowa 6:3, 6:2 and will face the number four seeded Kazakh in the final on Saturday Jelena Rybakina.

Collins’ success is emotional because it will be her last time competing in Miami, after the season she ends her career. And in Miami, of all places, her star rose in 2018, when she was back then as the first qualifier marched to the semifinals of the Miami Open in the tournament’s 30-year history. Her greatest success was taking part in the finals in 2022 Australian Open.

Alcaraz has no chance against Dimitrov

The defeat also came as a surprise Carlos Alcaraz, who last won in Indian Wells. The Spaniard lost 2:6, 4:6 to a great Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov and had to admit afterwards: “I felt like I was 13 on the pitch, Grigor was that strong”. Dimitrov met the German Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals on Saturday night.
