In an ESPN video interview Clark said he was grateful for the number one booking, but also showed his determination.

“The biggest thing is self-confidence. I told my mother before this occasion that I deserved the number one reservation. That’s why I’m so proud of this,” Clark stated.

In principle, Clark could have continued in the college league, but at the end of February, he confirmed moving to the WNBA.

Clarck’s career in college basketball has been stellar. In his four seasons in the NCAA collegiate league, he scored an all-time record 3,951 points – including the men’s league.

Clark also set the single-season and single-playoff scoring records. In his final season, he broke the NBA’s best long-range shooter Stephen Curryn single-season three-point record by making 548 baskets from beyond the arc.

In March, Clark was named the only college player to the 14-woman national team camp. It was interpreted as foreshadowing selection for the Paris Olympics, for which the WNBA takes a break from July to August.
