Union captain Trimmel and his tip for the record champions

After the rejection of numerous other candidates, there is now only one name on everyone’s lips when it comes to the search for a coach at FC Bayern Munich: Ralf Rangnick. Christopher Trimmel also sees Rangnick as an “outstanding” possible solution for the record champions.

“It would be a very, very shame for the Austrian national team, but for Bayern Munich it would be outstanding because he is a very good coach,” said the captain of 1. FC Union at a media round on Wednesday when he responded to the rumors about Rangnicks person was asked. “That would be a great fit. He would definitely bring Bayern back to where they once were.”

Trimmel, who played as an Austrian national player under Rangnick in September 2022, only has positive things to say about the former coach of RB Leipzig, FC Schalke 04 and Manchester United. “I was able to get to know him and I can’t criticize anything.”

The Union captain doesn’t know anything more about Rangnick’s future, although he says he is still in contact with him. “I’m excited myself and I’m going to be surprised. I’m not surprised that he’s a candidate at FC Bayern. Of course that would be a shame for us Austrians, but that’s football,” he said.
