“Manthahari” is the champion of the Mansour bin Zayed Festival Cup

The filly “Mantahari” by Sheikha Reem Al Thani, under the supervision of trainer François Rohat and driven by Maxime Guillon, was crowned champion of the His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Festival Cup “Prix Nefta” for the second category, which was held at the ancient French racecourse in Toulouse, and its prize amounted to 30 thousand euros, sponsored by The sixteenth edition of the World Purebred Arabian Horse Festival.

The festival is held with the support and encouragement of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Office, with the aim of encouraging small owners and breeders to raise and acquire purebred Arabian horses, which have now gained a broad base and great interest in Europe.

Seven purebred Arabian fillies at the age of only four years competed in the race, over a distance of 2000 metres, and it was full of excitement and suspense, and with all skill, “Mantahari” outperformed “Aslan Al Shahaniya” by Sheikha Yasmine Al Thani, by two lengths, under the supervision of Thomas Dumello, and driven by Michael Barzalona.

She came in second place, 1.5 lengths behind the second, the filly “Marwa” from Al Shaqab Racing, supervised by François Rohat and driven by Valentin Seguy. The champion, descended from “Af Al Bahr”, recorded a time of 2:10:80 minutes.

Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Racing Festival, witnessed the race and crowned the winners.

The festival includes races for the crown jewel of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Zayed Cup, the Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Cup, the Al Wathba “Stallions” Cup, and the World Forum for Purebred Arabian Horse Racing.
