Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou announces the death of his 15-month-old son

The former UFC champion Francis Ngannou announced this Monday the death of his 15-month-old son, named Kobe. “It was too soon, but it’s gone,” he wrote on the social network X, formerly Twitter.

“My little boy, my friend Kobe, was full of life and joy.” “Now he lies lifeless. I screamed his name over and over again but he didn’t respond.” “I was the best version of myself with him and now I don’t know who I am. Life is so unfair that it hits us where it hurts most,” said Francis Ngannou.

A few hours before revealing the death of his son, he published in X: “What is the meaning of life if what we fight tooth and nail for (…) is in the end what hits us the most?” “Why is life so unfair and cruel?” he asked again.

The former MMA (mixed martial arts) champion, converted into a professional boxer since October 2023, received messages of condolences from several personalities in the world of martial arts.

“I’m sorry to hear about your loss, Francis, my prayers are with you and your family at this time,” he posted. Conor McGregor another UFC star, in X.
