A record audience shouted for the Seagulls' finals in the cramped Kisahalli – Urheilu

Okko Järvi and Shavon Coleman irresistibly nailed Karhubasket’s upside in the Korisliiga’s seventh semi-final match.

Helsinki The Seagulls will play for the basketball championship this spring as well.

The Seagulls controlled their nerves and their throwing game in the seventh semifinal against Kauhajoki Karhu and won 100–91.

On the field, two stars shone above the others: the Seagulls Lake Okko and Shavon Coleman. The duo Ryki scores irresistibly.

In addition, Coleman defended Topias Palmin ineffective.

The seventh semifinal, or game seven in sports parlance, had a noisy and cramped setting. Exactly as it should be.

The race hall was as full as it could be, 1,339 people. Spectators sat in the corridors, stood in two or three rows on the sides of the field and filled even the last seats.

Okko Järvi started the match with amazing fireworks. He sank five of his first six three-pointers. Every pitch seemed to suit him.

Shavon Coleman accompanied Järve, but Bearbasket hung on. Järvi collected 17 points in the first half, while no one from the visiting team scored more than ten.

Bear basketball head coach Janne Koskimies one could hope that Järvi and Coleman’s pace would slow down. It did, but only mildly.

Järvi scored a total of 29 points, Coleman added 24 on the surface.

The crowd gave a big round of applause when Järvi left the field at the end with a fifth foul. Yes, it was okay to leave the parade gate.

It’s hard to win a semifinal in the first ten, but you can lose. The bear didn’t sell its skin, but grinded and hung along on the ride.

The team’s power and strength were no longer enough in the fourth ten-minute period.

The Seagulls’ hurling game was almost brilliant. Järvi made 22 three-pointers and knocked eight of them into the basket.

On the lake had more successful threes than any Karhubasket player from behind the arc.

Basketball math is easy to calculate that with these numbers, Kauhajoki will play for bronze and the Seagulls in the finals.

The Gulls relied on their starting five throughout the series. The points he got from the bench to Karhubasket grew sky-high. The results of the substitute players were at most more than 20 points more than the Seagulls in the two semi-finals.

Even somewhat unusually, the Seagulls won both semi-finals, where they relied very strongly on the opening five.

The problems started when the shots of the top players didn’t sink. The worst example came in the sixth semi-final at Kauhajoki, when Ohams sowed balls past the basket.

It’s easy to guess that in the final matches, the Seagulls will need players other than Coleman and Järve for the basket party.

Karhubasket i.e. through the semi-final series with Palm’s throws. The rule went almost exactly so that if Palmi succeeded, it was also visible on Kauhajoki’s scoreboard.

Palmist was no longer the savior of Karhubasket, he was under so much pressure.

At the end of the semifinals, Karhubasket got a new player, so to speak. raised its efficiency overnight to the expected level.

Hopkins came to Kauhajoki as reinforcement for this season. It didn’t seem like it at first. Throughout the main and upper final series, Hopkins remained hidden – and ineffective.

In the fifth and sixth semifinals, Hopkins, who turns 29 next week, came out exactly as a former national team player should. The throws sank and landed in important places.

Before these matches, Hopkins had time to become a two-minute man in the team’s games. During that time no screens are given, but Hopkins didn’t deserve more.

The worst was that Hopkins slipped into invisibility again at crucial moments. The throws started out of rhythm, and nothing really worked.

The Seagulls will start the final matches of the Korisliiga on their home field in Töölö Kisahalli on Tuesday next week against either Joensuu’s Kataja or BC Nokia. Four wins are required for the championship.
