“I don’t expect much from the result”: Kylian Mbappé agrees to run a 100m against Usain Bolt

Who is faster between Usain Bolt and Kylian Mbappé? Maybe we’ll get an answer one day. This Sunday, Kylian Mbappé was present in a boutique on the Champs-Élysées for the “Victory Mode” operation of his foundation Inspired By KM and the equipment manufacturer Nike. In response to a question asked by a colleague from the Brut media, the Paris Saint-Germain striker accepted the idea of racing against the eight-time Olympic champion.

Our colleague told Mbappé that during a recent report with Usain Bolt in Jamaica, the latter told him that he was “inspired” by the native of Bondy. “Knowing that I inspire someone like that is really gratifying. I think he inspired everyone a little bit too and every one of you in this room has ever gotten up in the middle of the night to watch one of his races. It’s mutual! But I started admiring him before him,” replied Mbappé.

“Why not, if we both have time…”

The captain of the France team then returned to the challenge that Bolt threw at him. “He told me that you had no chance against him over 100 m,” the Brut journalist told him. “No chance, I think so too!” », replies Kylian Mbappé with a laugh. “Now it’s nice and why not, one day, if we both have the time, do something nice. But I don’t expect much from the result,” admits the Parisian striker.

This is not the first time that the Jamaican sprinter has challenged Mbappé. Last March, the 100m world record holder (9 seconds 58) had already spoken on this subject: “I would have liked to compete with Mbappé when I was at my best, to see how good he would have been close. He should be able to run the 100m one day, so I can see his time,” Bolt said. Challenge accepted.
