Joan Laporta: “As a culé I feel ashamed, we will take measures”

The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, felt “ashamed” to see the Camp Nou stands full of Eintracht Frankfurt fans wearing white shirts and assured that they will take “measures” so that it does not happen again, in addition to regretting the team’s elimination after falling at home 2-3.

“We haven’t been able to win and we have to accept it. Situations like this happen in football. Now we’re sad and angry, but we have to go ahead and fight for the League,” Laporta told Barca TV, where he made clear his discomfort at the situation experienced in the stands this Thursday.

“We cannot avoid certain situations, but from now on we will have to be more strict. Do not allow situations that have been done throughout history. We have the security and ticketing information. Everything points to situations that should not have been produced,” he said.

“As a culé I feel ashamed to see so many rival fans and fewer of ours. We will take measures and explain those measures. Today I felt ashamed and I regret what happened. It cannot be repeated, it is outrageous and shameful,” added the maximum responsible for the Blaugrana entity.

In addition, Laporta agreed with the words of coach Xavi Hernández, who were in the same direction. “I understand what Xavi has said. He is absolutely right. He has happened to all of us culés who have come to the game”, he commented.

“Due to certain circumstances that we have already studied as a result of the information that has reached the club, we will take measures so that it does not happen again, because it has been very serious,” insisted Laporta.
