Samsung introduces repair mode, which hides personal data during repairs

Samsung has introduced the so-called repair mode, with which the company seeks to protect the data of its users when they send their devices for repair, in order to prevent technicians from having access to this information.

The company has announced this solution in a statement, where it has confirmed that it will present this functionality through updates of ‘software’ of the series Samsung Galaxy S21a mode that it plans to expand to other models in the future.

In this writing, you have indicated that this function allows selective sharing of data and block access to certain sections when running, so users can keep their confidential information safe.

To activate it, it is only necessary to access the menu, in the ‘Settings’ section of the ‘smartphone’, choose the ‘Battery and device care’ option and activate it. Once this action is carried out, it is restarted and, after that, personal data such as photos, messages or accounts will not be accessible.

In this way, only the applications installed by default can be used during the repair process in official centers authorized by the South Korean company and other establishments.

At the moment, the Asian technology manufacturer has not determined when it will make this system available to its users. or in which countries it will be available.

On the other hand, Samsung has recalled that it has been “continuously” adding features to protect personal information on mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets.

For example, last year he introduced Samsung Knox Vault an information protection technology capable of blocking attacks by saving personal data in its own storage space.
