Xiaomi has presented the Mijia Glasses Camera, smart glasses equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 processor, augmented reality (AR) technology and a 50-megapixel main lens (MP).
The Chinese company advanced the concept of its smart glasses in September 2021, when it stated that this device would be the substitute for the ‘smartphone’ in the future, since it would integrate all the usual functions of mobile devices.
Now, Xiaomi has released the prototype of these glasses, which come under the name of Mijia Glasses Camera, a device that has two cameras, as the company has advanced on its Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform.
The main lens is 50 megapixels (MP), while the secondary is an 8MP periscopic lens and integrates optical image stabilizer, as well as a 15x hybrid zoom.
This new Xiaomi ‘wearable’ also integrates augmented reality technology in its right lens. This is possible thanks to its 0.23-inch Sony Micro OLED screen, which achieves a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits.
In addition to AR, Xiaomi has integrated a real-time translator for English and Chinese, which identifies and translates text on the glasses screen. These also offer native support for the artificial intelligence assistant (IA) Of the brand, XiaoAI.
Xiaomi’s new smart glasses incorporate an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. In addition, they have Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, dual WiFi and an image signal processor (ISPfor its acronym in English) independent.
With a weight of 100 grams, This Mijia Glasses Camera has a 1,020mAh battery, that promises up to 100 minutes of recording without interruptions. In addition, it is compatible with 10W wireless charging, which promises to reach 80 percent of the device’s battery in 30 minutes.
The Mijia Glasses Camera are available for reservation in China from the Xiaomi marketplace at a starting price of 2,499 yuan, about 360 euros at current exchange rates. It is still unknown if they will leave the Asian country to other markets, such as Spanish.
