IT: Quaglia (PagoPA), ‘technology and data are tools to improve work and services’

“For PagoPA, technology has always been a tool and never an end. This means that technology, for us, must simplify people’s work and must not replace it. Indeed, it must be a tool that enables their skills, helps their work and facilitates the ability to make decisions of the people who work within the company. At the same time, PagoPa is also a data driven company, with the culture of data. Data analysis permeates and guides all the choices we make. In fact, data is not an end in itself themselves, they are a tool to understand what citizens’ needs are. Their analysis allows us to build safer, more scalable platforms that are increasingly closer to citizens’ needs”. This was said by Michelangelo Quaglia, PagoPA chief data officer, speaking today at the 2026 edition of the Information Technology Forum, organized by Comunicazione Italiana in Milan and dedicated to the relationship between people and technologies within organisations.
