Canva has introduced Canva IA 2.0, an AI-driven platform revamp, introducing new agent capabilities and workflows that apply to the entire creative process.
Canva IA 2.0 is the most important evolution of this visual communication platform since its launch in 2013, and marks the beginning of a new stage driven by artificial intelligence.
This evolution is the result of the work of Canva Original Research and Exploration researchers who have developed new foundational models specifically for the design field: Canva Proteusfor style transfer; Canva Lucid Originfor image generation; and Canva I2Vfor converting images to video.
Specifically, Canva AI 2.0 transforms the platform into a conversational and agent-oriented environment, with a new architectural layer that reinvents the entire design process, from the initial idea to the final result, as the company reports in a press release.
The conversational design allows users create from instructions that are expressed in natural language or by voice, without the need for a blank page or template. Canva has highlighted that AI accompanies them at all times, in addition to orchestrating the different tools that are needed.
Likewise, the new creative platform allows you to make precise changes without having to start from scratch thanks to object-based intelligence, which replaces images, adjusts headlines or modifies fonts without compromising the rest of the design.
And with persistent memory, AI learns and improves with each use, maintaining brand consistency across all projects and automatically applying the established style.
On the other hand, Canva IA 2.0 introduces new workflows, such as the ability to connect connect tools such as Slack, Gmail, Google Drive or Calendar; that of schedule tasks that artificial intelligence performs them in the background, even offline.
It also incorporates the ability to browse the webwhether on-demand or scheduled, to search and collect information and integrate it directly into the workflow.
Creative work teams will also access brand intelligence, which ensures that the design of the brand identity is respected throughout the process, and also allows existing work to be updated if there is a new identity.
To all this comes together Canva Code 2.0, the second generation of this tool that allows generating an interactive experience for the web, which now incorporates HTML importance. It also introduces the ability to generate smart spreadsheets and a template library..
An experimental version of Canva AI is available this Thursday and will be accessible to the first million people who discover it on the Canva home page, as the company has explained. Access will be progressively expanded in the coming weeks.
Additionally, Canva has announced a collaboration with Anthropicwhereby the potential of its design engine and Visual Suite will be integrated directly into Claude.
