The father of the game Ms. Pac-Man is about to chat with Vietnamese intellectuals

The event was organized by CEO LAB in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at this school on May 30-31. According to a representative of the organizing committee, the attendees are Vietnamese intellectuals studying and working in the US, especially in the innovation community.

One of the guests at this event was Mr. Doug Macrae – a former engineering student at MIT and a famous game creator. Ms. Pac-Mandeveloped from the game Pac-Man of Japan.

In the 1980s, Mr. Macrae was considered a pioneer of the commercial video game editing (game mod) movement. According to MIT Technology Reviewfrom the school’s game business, Macrae and his friends designed additional boards to make the game more difficult, forcing players to add more coins.

He later joined the founding of General Computer Corporation (GCC), a company famous for creating unofficial upgrades for arcade games, of which the group’s notable products were the upgrade kit for Missile Command and the Crazy Otto project – the predecessor of Ms. Pac-Manwhich later became one of the world’s most popular video games. The name Doug Macrae is often used as an example of an engineering student turning his passion and strengths into a real business.

In addition to Doug Macrae, the program is expected to be attended by a number of prominent individuals in the startup field. According to LAB CEO, the event will be designed as a “living career map”, where each content session corresponds to a stage of career development. The program will also feature keynote speeches from senior leaders at corporations and founders who have built businesses on a global scale; discussion sessions for middle management teams who want to advance their careers to senior executive positions; Direct dialogue sessions between students and experts and managers with 5-10 years of experience. These sessions are expected to help participants “think bigger, go further, and have faith in the path they are choosing”.
