Google reaches an all-time high in search queries and adds 25 million subscriptions to its services

Google claims to have reached an “all-time high” in its queries in the search experience, in addition to reaching 350 million paying subscribers for its services, with YouTube and Google One being the main drivers, which have added 25 million subscriptions.

The technology giant has shared the financial results for the first quarter of 2026 of its parent company Alphabet, claiming that the year “has started in an excellent way”, registering revenues that amount to 109.9 billion dollars (around 93.818 million euros at the exchange rate), which represents an increase of 22 percent year-on-year.

As Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated in his report, these results have been achieved, in part, thanks to investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and its focus on driving “every part of the business.”

Starting with the search experience, Pichai highlighted in the report that Google Search has recorded “a solid quarter”, with AI experiences driving its use, in reference to AI Mode, and 19 percent revenue growth in this area. In addition, search queries have registered “an all-time high.”

It has also indicated that Google Cloud’s revenue has grown by 63 percent during this period, almost doubling its order book, to exceed 460,000 million dollars (around 392,541 euros at the exchange rate).

350 MILLION PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR ITS SERVICES

Continuing with subscriptions, Pichai has reflected that it has reached a total of 350 million paying subscribers across all its services. This represents an increase of 25 million subscribers, compared to the 325 million registered in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Within this growth, YouTube and Google One have been the main drivers. Likewise, Gemini Enterprise has also picked up significant momentum, with a 40 percent growth in paid monthly active users.

STRONGER QUARTER FOR AI PLANS

Finally, the CEO of Google has highlighted that this has been the “strongest quarter yet” for consumer AI plans, driven mainly by the Gemini application that continues to boom.

In this case, although it has not shared the number of new subscriptions, it has detailed that its own models, such as Gemini, are processing “more than 16,000 million tokens per minute” through the direct use of APIs by its clients. This represents 60 percent more usage than that recorded last quarter.

“It’s really exciting to see how our investments in AI are bringing value to our users, customers and business,” said Pichai.
