Google’s Gemini new feature – generates documents from the chat itself

Gemini is breathing again in the back of the Gipiti chat: Google is launching a new capability in its artificial intelligence engine that allows the direct creation of documents for download from within the chat itself. Instead of copying texts, reformatting or moving between applications, you can now produce a ready-to-use file, from a Word document to a data sheet or presentation.

Google explains that the goal is to shorten the path between an initial idea and a final product. For example, you can request the creation of a budget proposal and receive it as a ready-made Excel file with tables, or organize ideas into an orderly document that includes points, headings and subsections. Documents can also be extracted from long summaries and converted into a PDF document ready for distribution.

This capability is based on a deeper integration between Gemini and Google Workspace services, but it is not limited to them only. The user can download the file directly to the computer or export it to Google Drive with one click. In this way, Google reduces the need for manual work between different systems.

The competition is at its peak

However, this is a move that puts Gemini in front of major competitors, led by ChatGPT. ChatGPT also has advanced capabilities for creating documents, but the approach is slightly different. ChatGPT makes it possible to create structured and complete content, and sometimes even produce files for download in various formats using dedicated tools, including Word, Excel, PDF or presentations.

Meanwhile, ChatGPT stands out especially in the ability to work with complex files, perform data processing, analyze existing sheets and produce new documents from them. It is used not only as a creation tool but also as an advanced work tool for editing, checking and improving existing documents. On the other hand, the advantage of Gemini at this stage is simplicity and speed: the user receives a ready file almost immediately, with a minimum of steps along the way.
