Musk lost against OpenAI: The jury decided unanimously

The verdict followed 11 days of testimony and hearings in which Musk’s and Altman’s credibility came under multiple attacks.

Each side accused the other of being more interested in money than serving the public.

In his closing argument, Musk’s attorney, Steven Molo, reminded the jury that several witnesses questioned Altman’s honesty or called him a liar.

Musk accused OpenAI of illegally trying to enrich investors and insiders at the expense of the non-profit organization and of not prioritizing the safety of artificial intelligence.

OpenAI retorted that Musk is the one for whom money is the most important and that he waited too long to accuse OpenAI of violating the founding agreement on building safe artificial intelligence for the benefit of the public.

Establishesč ChatGPT competes with artificial intelligence companies such as Anthropic and xAI. Musk’s xAI is now part of his space and rocket company SpaceX.
