LEGO presented the largest set in history – and the selection is perfect

LEGO has released its largest set ever – a 12,060-piece replica of the Sagrada Familia, as part of the Architecture series, dedicated to the centenary of the death of architect Antonio Gaudí, who died in 1926.

The set will be available from November 1, 2026, and the price is 749.99 euros. For comparison – the previous record holder was the LEGO Art World Map with 11,695 pieces. The Sagrada Familia surpasses it by almost 400 pieces.

What all comes in the box?

The construction follows the actual order of the construction of the basilica – from the foundation and the crypt, through the Nativity and Passion passages, the main naves, the sacristy and six towers, to the final Slava passage. The model is 62 centimeters high, 47 wide and 39 deep, and one of the most striking details is the effect of the stained glass windows, which imitates the way light passes through a real church. The set can be disassembled in sections to see the interior.

Why this year?

It’s not a coincidence. The year 2026 is celebrated as Gaudí’s year, Barcelona was declared the World Capital of Architecture, and the actual basilica reached 172.5 meters in February with the completion of the Tower of Jesus Christ, making it the tallest church in the world. Construction has been going on since 1882 – which means that the LEGO version is, if only slightly, easier to finish.
