Series of new points on Siri AI

At the WWDC 2026 global developers conference, taking place on June 8 in the US, one of Apple’s focuses is to introduce the new Siri AI – a version of Siri that is considered “transformed” thanks to the deep integration of Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence functions. During the presentation, Craig Federighi, Apple’s Vice President of Software Engineering, emphasized that this is a “capacity-rich” version of Siri, helping users operate the application more naturally than ever.

A true personal assistant

According to Apple, Siri AI with Apple Intelligence provides detailed, engaging responses and natural conversational capabilities by relying on the ability to understand personal context, helping to quickly find information across messages, emails, photos and many other data sources. For example, users can ask Siri to find restaurant information that a friend texted them, display a hotel reservation confirmation number from an old email, or compile photos taken with friends and family from a recent trip. The ability to understand personal context can extend to third-party apps when developers integrate with Spotlight.

Siri AI can also act as an agent, performing more tasks across the system and across apps, helping get work done faster. For example, Siri supports composing emails from scratch, editing photos, or sharing a set of photos using just your voice. Thanks to its ability to understand the content being displayed on the screen, the virtual assistant can answer questions directly related to what is being viewed.

Besides, Siri also has the function of searching and synthesizing new information from the web to answer many different topics. Users can ask when and where to observe the next solar eclipse or an artist’s upcoming performance schedule in their area. Compared to before, conversations are expanded with new questions, helping to learn more deeply about the content of interest.

Rebuilt from the ground up

Siri AI is rebuilt with a new platform, leveraging Apple Intelligence architecture that combines AI models that run both on the device and on the self-built Private Cloud Compute (PCC) private cloud computing system. According to Apple, when a request needs to be processed on the PPC server, personal data is not stored or shared with anyone. The company also said that independent experts can verify this privacy protection mechanism at any time.

Besides, Siri AI also uses an intelligent coordination system to help exploit the device’s core tools such as Spotlight index and App Toolbox. Most of the processing is done directly on the device, giving users better control over their personal data, thereby increasing security.

More “emotional”.

Apple also took care of the newer product after many years, saying Siri AI has been upgraded with a natural voice and rich intonation, while significantly improving voice recognition and dictation capabilities across the system. Users can adjust Siri’s speaking speed and expression level to suit personal preferences.

The Dictation feature has also been improved to help convert speech into text more accurately. With some languages, including Vietnamese, Siri AI can automatically add punctuation, capitalization and format content right during the reading process. Thanks to better language comprehension, users can speak naturally without slow reading or pauses, while the recorded content remains clear and close to the original intention.

Thanks to the new architecture, Apple Intelligence greatly improves its ability to understand context, reason and multi-modal processing. The system can understand image content, create images, do advanced photo editing, answer questions related to visual content as well as process natural language at a deeper level than before. Some high-end devices are also equipped with more powerful models with speech generation capabilities, improved transcription accuracy and enhanced language comprehension.

“Dedicated” version

For the first time, the company introduced a standalone Siri app. Users can review conversation history, continue old conversations or start new sessions. All content is synced through iCloud, allowing for seamless switching between iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.

With chat history privately synced through iCloud across devices across the ecosystem, users can start a conversation with Siri on Mac, then continue the conversation on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro without repeating what was said before. All conversations are centralized in one app, making them easier to track and manage.

On a Mac, Siri is integrated directly into Spotlight and the operating system’s right-click menu. Users can select any file or window and ask Siri to analyze, summarize, or compare the content.

Visual intelligence is everywhere

Introduced by Apple last year, Visual Intelligence is now deeply integrated into Siri AI. The new virtual assistant now possesses powerful and multimodal image “understanding” capabilities, through which users can ask questions about visual content.

On iPhone, Siri’s ability to simultaneously understand images and context is integrated directly into the Camera app, allowing you to search for information or perform tasks based on what is appearing, thereby helping users interact with the world around them more intuitively and conveniently. Just press the shutter button, Siri will analyze images from the camera and provide relevant information in real time. For example, when pointing the camera at a dish, Siri can identify and provide nutritional information.

Visual Intelligence is also available for the first time on iPad and Mac, allowing visual searches, asking questions, and seamless on-screen manipulation. With Apple Vision Pro, users can ask Siri AI just by looking at what they need, including the content inside the application window and surrounding objects.

Write – edit smart

Siri AI upgraded with a new set of Writing Tools, allowing you to create and edit content in any area where text can be entered. Just describe what you want to write, and the virtual assistant will create an initial draft. If you want to change the content, users just need to make a request, Siri will automatically edit the text in the desired direction.

In some applications such as Mail and Messages, Siri AI also has the ability to learn how to communicate with a specific target, thereby creating appropriate content. For example, if users often send concise bulleted emails to managers, Siri AI can apply a similar presentation when assisting with drafting.

In addition to creating content, Siri also offers suggestions to help improve sentences, expressions and text structure. Siri can automatically proofread as users type across systems, including most third-party applications.

Call from anywhere

Siri AI can be accessed from many different locations across operating systems, making it more convenient for humans to interact with the assistant. On iPhone, in addition to the “Hey Siri” command, users can press the side button or swipe from Dynamic Island to open Siri and receive detailed answers right on the screen.

On iPad and Mac, Siri is integrated directly into Spotlight to help you find information or ask questions without opening a separate app. The new virtual assistant also appears in the system’s context menu, helping users simply right-click on an image, document or piece of text to request an explanation, search for information or perform a related task.

With Apple Vision Pro glasses, Siri leverages spatial computing capabilities to display content as a 3D window in the surrounding environment. Users can place the Siri interface anywhere in space and activate the assistant simply by looking at Siri and starting to speak, providing a more natural interaction experience in mixed reality environments.
