The European Union wants to protect its automobile industry from the ever-increasing pressure of Chinese manufacturers, but in that attempt it could make a rather unusual turn. According to information transmitted by foreign media, the new rules labeled “Made in EU” could also cover cars manufactured outside the European Union, specifically in the United Kingdom, Japan and South Korea. In other words, a car would not necessarily have to be manufactured in the EU to receive the treatment of a vehicle considered part of Europe’s industrial response to China.
