Dojo and ATM for digital payments in Italy

Agreement reached between Dojo and the ATM circuit. The agreement provides for the enabling of Dojo’s POS terminals to use the national payment circuit, responding to the demand for greater flexibility and operational continuity coming from the country’s commercial fabric. The partnership is part of a rapidly evolving market, confirmed by data from the Innovative Payments Observatory of the Polytechnic University of Milan relating to the previous year, which highlight how electronic payments covered forty-five percent of total consumptionovercoming the use of cash and reaching a transaction of 518 billion euros.

The expansion of the Dojo platform in Italy, characterized by a constant growth of active points of sale and close to the milestone of the first billion euros in total transactions, is thus enriched with an essential tool for responding to consumer habits.

The introduction of the ATM circuit was born from listening to the needs of the market and aims to respond to the demand for greater simplicity, operational continuity and flexibility from Italian commerce. Today, merchants are asking for increasingly integrated tools, capable of simplifying the daily management of the point of sale and offering a fluid and reliable payment experience to consumers. In this scenario, expanding the possibilities of acceptance represents for us a strategic step in Dojo’s growth path in Italy”, declared Antonio Di Berardino, General Manager Dojo Italia, who added: “The digital payments market is experiencing a very rapid transformation phase and we believe that the future of in-person purchases passes through increasingly connected ecosystems. Our goal is to continue to support Italian trade by providing simple solutions capable of concretely accompanying the growth of the business. Enabling the ATM circuit on Dojo terminals goes exactly in this direction”.

This agreement once again confirms the centrality of Bancomat in the payments market in Italy and the effectiveness of our strategy, aimed at building strategic partnerships with the main players in the system”, said Massimo Itta, Chief Commercial Officer of Bancomat. “Thanks to this new collaboration, Bancomat continues to expand its ecosystem of alliances, bringing increasingly secure, fast, flexible and integrated payment tools to consumers and merchants in the digital landscape.”.
