According to the Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Science and Technology has surveyed more than 1,400 digital platforms and solutions developed by Vietnamese businesses and being deployed in ministries, branches and localities. Next week, the National Digital Transformation Department will send these platforms and solutions to the locality.

“The spirit is for localities to see and visualize to choose solutions to implement digital government, digital economy, and digital society,” he said. The goal is not to ask localities to use any solution, but to let leaders, officials at all levels, community digital technology groups and people easily look up, refer to and choose according to actual needs.

For example, in the agricultural sector, people can learn about solutions to apply artificial intelligence to detect pests, drones for production, or many digital applications that have been deployed effectively.

“When people see that technology brings practical benefits, they will proactively apply it. Only then will digital transformation truly come to life,” the Deputy Minister said.

According to the Deputy Minister, digital transformation is no longer the task of the Ministry or the Departments of Science and Technology alone but is the responsibility of the entire system. “Ministers, sectors, and fields all have to carry out digital transformation. The current roles and responsibilities are very different from the first phase of implementation,” he said.

He assessed that ministries, branches and localities are making efforts to deploy shared platforms and databases. However, implementation on a national scale is difficult to avoid technical problems, especially when the administrative apparatus has just been streamlined, forcing many information systems to be adjusted. Even the National Public Service Portal still has errors after 7 years of operation, or popular software in the world can malfunction during use. Therefore, the Deputy Minister asked those working in science in the system to look objectively and share to solve the problem.

The 2026 Southern region digital transformation training conference was organized to unify implementation in the context of the Digital Transformation Law taking effect and the two-level local government model officially operating. One of the key contents is to introduce the commune-level digital transformation model, shared software platform and instructions for local implementation immediately after the conference.

According to Mr. Tran Duy Ninh, Director of the National Digital Transformation Department – Ministry of Science and Technology, if the commune level implements it effectively, people will clearly feel the value of digital transformation; On the contrary, limitations at the grassroots level will also directly impact service quality.

In addition, the program also updates new directions of the National Strategy on digital transformation; introducing national shared digital platforms; Announcing the results of reviewing digital infrastructure, platforms, software and equipment nationwide. These are all contents directly tied to local digital transformation in the coming time.

The organizing committee also spent time for localities to discuss and reflect on difficulties during the implementation process. The opinions will be compiled by the National Digital Transformation Agency and reported to the leadership of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and will serve as a basis for continuing to improve local guidance, platforms and support solutions in the next stage.
