Google deploys AI Agent for Vietnamese users

Gemini Spark, a personal AI assistant that works 24/7 and can help users perform many automated tasks, is starting to roll out to paid users.

On July 29, Google said that Gemini Spark is available to subscribers of the AI ​​Ultra and Pro packages in Vietnamese and English. In particular, users of the AI ​​Pro package will be able to use it “in the coming weeks”.

Gemini Spark is an AI agent introduced at Google I/O in May, currently developed on the 3.6 Flash platform. According to the company, this is an important transition when AI goes from a passive feedback tool to a proactive assistant that can assist in performing real-life tasks. Thanks to that, many tasks are performed automatically and completed even when the user is not using the phone or computer.

Unlike chatbots, AI Agent is a generation of artificial intelligence capable of performing a series of tasks on its own to achieve assigned goals, instead of just answering questions or creating content. For example, AI Agents can plan, use tools, access multiple data sources, make decisions, and coordinate with other systems to complete work with a higher level of automation. This technology is expected to be the next step in generative AI, opening up the ability to replace or support humans in many complex work processes.

In the example shared by Google, if a user wants to search for local events on the weekend to add to their calendar, they can give Spark a command like: “Every Friday at 8 a.m., find local events you think I’ll like and add them to the ‘Weekend Plans’ Google Docs document so I can reference them for ideas on what to do. Include important information about the events or activities, along with links to learn more. If available 1-3 events that you highly recommend, add them to my calendar”.

Some other examples given include automatically searching for emails from your child’s school and reminding of important milestones; automatically search service invoice emails, check to see if any services have price increases and notifications; Check customer feedback emails and set up automatic reply emails; Read recent emails and learn how to respond when asked to compose an email…

According to Google, Gemini Spark can continue to perform tasks in the background even when the computer is closed or the phone is locked. The product is built on Google’s cloud infrastructure and can integrate with Google Workspace tools such as Gmail, Docs and Sheets.

However, this AI Agent also works according to instructions. Users can actively choose when to activate and the applications with which this tool can connect. For important actions like spending or sending emails, Spark is designed to ask for confirmation before taking action and “ensure users always stay in control.”

Previously, according to Gemini usage statistics in Southeast Asia announced by Google in mid-July, Vietnam was the leader in applying AI to learning. Academic activities account for 17% of Vietnamese people’s total commands, higher than the regional average of 11%.

Google said it wants to make Gemini “the most useful AI assistant” for 600 million people in Southeast Asia. They also plan to bring AI agents to users to transform Gemini from an assistant answering questions into a “partner” that directly helps users get work done.
