Unitree reveals humanoid robot that is capable of running faster than Usain Bolt

This Monday Unitree has revealed a humanoid robot, which nicknamed ‘Superman’which can surpass the best athletes in jumping and running with two figures that put the achievement achieved in perspective.

The Chinese humanoid robot company has shared the details of ‘Superman’, which is capable of make a vertical jump of 2 meters and run to one maximum speed of 12.66 m/s (his leg length is 0.85 m).

With these data, it has been shown that capable of exceeding the maximum specific speed recorded by runner Usain Bolt at the 2009 Berlin World Cup, 12.42 m/s.

The robot reaches that speed through a very high cadence and a less wide stride than an athlete can make. The objective is none other than to exceed the maximum possible speed, leaving aside any flourishes in running.

“This new machine has only been in development for just over three months, with enough room to continue improving in the coming months,” states Unitree in the publication made in X.

The reveal of the new robot occurs before its IPO this Wednesday, as the humanoid robot maker is set to list in Shanghai at a crucial time for the rise of China’s robotics industry.

In fact, according to Business Insider, official documents suggest that there is more than 5,000 times overdemand from retail investors.

The humanoid robot market is practically concentrating in China thanks to Unitree and its local rivals, except for exceptions in the West such as Boston Dynamicswhose robots have demonstrated a wide range of abilities in recent years, although neither it nor other Western manufacturers have been able to put any on sale.
