Bandai Namco launches Tamagotchi Ring, the smallest ever

Unlike models powered by replaceable batteries, Tamagotchi Ring uses a rechargeable battery, managed via a charging dock included in the package. A choice that aligns the product with the standards of modern wearable devices and which aims to reduce the environmental impact linked to the disposal of button batteries, which has always been a critical issue for this category of electronic toys.

The new Tamagotchi will be available in three different colors, maintaining the logic of aesthetic customization that has always accompanied the brand. On the gameplay front, the experience remains faithful to the original formula: users will be able to grow and take care of their virtual characters, with a total of thirty creatures obtainable based on the quality of care provided. These also include secret characters, which can only be unlocked by following particular breeding paths, an element that has always fueled the discovery and replay component of the franchise.

Tamagotchi Ring pre-orders will start on August 27, 2026, the date from which it will be possible to secure the device before its launch on the Japanese market. Bandai Namco has not yet specified any international distribution plans, an unknown that closely concerns fans of the franchise outside of Japan, historically one of the most receptive markets for products from the Tamagotchi line.
