Google presents Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.8 Flash Cyber, its fast AI models for advanced programming and cybersecurity

Google has presented its two new models of fast and low-cost artificial intelligence, Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, which offer, respectively, improvements in workflows with autonomous agents and complex long-term programming tasks, as well as in the detection of vulnerabilities and the creation of patches.

Gemini 3.8 Flash arrives as an “all-terrain” model that improves on software engineering, automated tasks with agents and multi-step critical reasoning in specialized domains compared to its predecessor.

The company offers this new model at the same launch price as 3.7 Flash, that is, $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens. In relation to its cost, it also ensures that it offers performance in line with that of higher-cost cutting-edge models, as stated in a statement.

For example, it outperforms Cloud Opus 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol in financial analysis tasks, complex legal workflows, long video understanding, and multidisciplinary expert reasoning.

Gemini 3.8 Flash is now available in Google AI Studio, Android Studio, Google Antigravity, Gemini Enterprise and for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the Gemini app, AI Mode in Google Search and Gemini in Google Sheets

FLASH-POWERED CYBER DEFENSE

On the other hand, Google has also presented Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, its most advanced cyber defense model to date, with the ability to detect vulnerabilities in systems and, above all, correct them automatically taking advantage of the speed and cost of the Flash model.

Its performance on the industry-standard vulnerability detection benchmark tool CyberGym was slightly better than GPT-5.6 Sol and Claude Mythos 5. In a test that requires the discovery of a wide range of vulnerabilities in complex code bases spanning 20 programming languages, Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber ​​achieved a success rate of over 70 percent.

Google has launched this model on a limited basis within the new Fairwind program that, like OpenAI’s Daybreak, Anthropic’s Glasswing and Microsoft’s Perception, makes it available to trusted defenders.

Internally, the technology company has already used Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber ​​to protect the code of all its systems, where it has already demonstrated its capabilities by finding a critical fundamental vulnerability in less than two hours in the Google cloud and by generating 2.6 times more correct patches for Chrome vulnerabilities than larger commercial models.
