Reservations until 2027, iPhone Duo sells out in minutes

The race for the first leaflet in Apple’s history was resolved in a matter of minutes. With the official opening of pre-orders, which took place this morning, the initial stocks intended for the launch of the iPhone Duo were quickly destroyed. In the official US store, the first shipping date, initially set for October 23rd, was immediately postponed to January 25th for all colors in the catalog and for any internal storage configuration. Same fate for Italy, where it is not possible to have a copy of the leaflet by the beginning of next year.

Unveiled last September 9th during the “Surprise and Shine” event, the new terminal marks the entry of the Californian giant into a category hitherto dominated almost exclusively by Asian competition. The technical data sheet hinges on a flexible 7.6-inch internal display flanked by a more compact 5.4-inch external panel, ideal for one-handed use when the device remains closed. Under the body there is space for the proprietary A20 Pro processor, called upon to manage both the computational load and the photographic sector, characterized by a double 48 megapixel main sensor.

The market response highlights how a particularly high price threshold has not discouraged consumers, attracted by the new form factor. The starting price list is in fact positioned at 1,999 dollars in the United States, a figure that rises to 2,369 euros on the Italian market. The immediate saturation of production orders suggests a deliberately limited initial volume on the part of the supply chain, but at the same time confirms solid demand for the new segment inaugurated by Cupertino.
