Children’s milk dishes contain dangerous coconut fat

In March 1972: Swedish dairy products for children use unhealthy coconut fat to improve shelf life.

Both these baby foods and the cream substitutes made from coconut fat that are the subject of the study are also sold in Finland.

The baby food industry also uses coconut fat in Finland. No similar study has been done here.

In Sweden A study has been completed showing that coconut fat is used in dairy products intended for human consumption. Experts on child nutrition see this as a scandal.

Proponents of margarine, oil and butter unanimously condemn the use of coconut fat. Coconut fat contains saturated fatty acids and strongly calcifies blood vessels. – –

Research by Professor Haqvin Malmros and Docent Gösta Arvidson. The results were published in Livsmedelsteknik issue 8 last year. – –

In their view, the addition of coconut fat is not justified by purely technical reasons. Coconut oil is popular in the industry because there is no rancidity or other changes. Coconut fat is solid in nature.

The substitute for industrially produced breast milk should follow as closely as possible the true composition of the breast milk. – –

The fat in other substitute milk should contain as little saturated fatty acids as possible. Coconut fat should not be used for cooking at all
