LinkedIn tests a short video format similar to TikTok

LinkedIn is testing a format of short videos similar to those that characterize TikTok, which will be displayed in the feed and will be gathered in a new tab on the main interface.

Currently, the employment platform has four main sections: ‘Home’, ‘My network’, ‘Messages’, ‘Jobs’ and ‘Notifications’. These appear followed by the section User account settings.

The firm is now testing a new section that brings together videos with a short format, in the style of TikTok, as verified by the strategy director of the McKinney agency, Austin Null, in the mobile application.

Based on what you have shared, the job search platform will display the new ‘feed’ in the navigation bar with the new ‘Video’ tab. Once accessed, the application will show videos in vertical format, which can be viewed by scrolling.

LinkedIn itself has also confirmed the introduction of this feature, which is currently in the testing phase, through TechCrunch, although it has not shared details about how it decides which videos to show in users’ feeds.

Likewise, this medium has pointed out that, according to LinkedIn, videos are becoming one of the most desired formats by users to learn from professionals and experts, which is why it has promoted them on the platform.
