New 12.9-inch iPad Pro Oled and iPad Air, here's what they will look like

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans to launch new iPad Pro models with OLED displays in early May. This update will represent a significant advancement in display technology for Apple devices, offering more vibrant colors and deeper blacks than traditional LCD displays. At the same time, Apple is planning to expand the iPad Air family by introducing a model with a 12.9-inch display for the first time. This move aims to meet the needs of users looking for a larger screen on a more affordable device than the Pro line.

Gurman’s sources suggest that the new iPad Pro models will be equipped with Apple’s M3 chip, marking the debut of this new generation of internal processors that promises improvements in performance and energy efficiency. In addition, an update to the Magic Keyboard is expected, which will include a larger trackpad, for an even more comfortable and productive user experience. As for the iPad Air, it seems that it will be offered with the previous generation M2 chip, confirming Apple’s strategy of offering high performance even in its range of more accessible devices. The new Air will be available in two display sizes: the standard 10.9-inch version and a larger 12.9-inch variant.

Currently, iPad Pro models are equipped with M2 chips, while the iPad Air uses the M1 chip. This update therefore represents a significant generational leap for both product lines. Despite initial expectations for a late March or April launch, Apple had to postpone the unveiling of the new devices to May due to the need for additional time to complete software development, according to Bloomberg. This launch will position the new iPads right before the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, scheduled for June 10, giving Apple an opportunity to reveal additional software and hardware innovations.
