A significant part of the campus will be dedicated to this project, which underlines the company’s commitment to partnership with the BMW Group – the press release states.

Mate Rimac, founder ofč and Chief Executive Officer of Rimac Group.

– My business journey started with a BMW 3 series from 1984, which I converted into an electric car in my garage when I was 20 years old, which is an interesting link with the current partnership with the BMW Group. This collaboration marks a key moment in the growth of Rimac Technology and is a clear sign of the transition from a supplier of high-performance products for small series models (such as Aston Martin Valkyrie, Pininfarina Battista, Rimac Nevere, etc.) to a manufacturer. with large capacities for projects like this one with the BMW Group. With the continuous growth of our business, including the opening of Rimac Campus, we are ready to deliver large projects for leading brands in the automotive industry. The project with the BMW Group is one of the first large-scale projects for us, but we are negotiating many more similar jobs – says Rimac, who also shared the news on his Facebook account:

– Rimac Technology već has cooperation with many car manufacturers. But this one with BMW has a special meaning – because of the complexity and advancement of the product, the size of the agreed work, the trust that BMW gives us, but also emotionally for me personally. For me, everything started with a BMW from 1984, which I started to convert to electric drive in 2008. Back then it was my dream to work for BMW. Today, we not only work with BMW, but together we create the future of their electric models – in Croatia, where battery systems for future BMW models have been developed and produced for the last two years, and now it has become public. . A large part of the Campus is specifically intended for the production of batteries for BMW, which, together with other agreed jobs, makes full use of it (we lack space and are planning a new factory). It is not only the biggest job in our history, but maybe also the biggest contract in the history of the country (at least I couldn’t find a bigger one). At that time, as a 20-year-old, I could not have imagined such a development of events. We are going in the right direction, but we still feel that we have only just begun. Great things are yet to come – he wrote.

At the end of the announcement it says:

– The individual strengths and expertise of these companies complement each other in an extremely productive way. BMW Group’s electrification strategy is aimed at further building its leading position in the premium electric mobility sector. The BMW Group brings to the partnership expertise in the field of batteries and electric drive systems that it has acquired over more than 15 years. The two partners will publish more information about the type of strategic partnership, as well as its scope and content, at a later stage.
