WhatsApp, increasingly social, will reunite those who haven't heard from each other for a long time

The new feature, currently being tested, will appear in the contact list and suggest various types of interactions: here’s how it will work

WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a series of innovations aimed at improving the user experience, starting with a function that will invite users to reconnect with long-ignored or forgotten contacts. The new feature, currently being tested, appears in the contact list and suggests interactions with people you have never interacted with or with whom you have had little communication. The declared objective is to encourage the creation of new connections, but it is not yet clear whether users will have the possibility to deactivate this function without having to resort to removing or blocking the affected contact.

The update represents just one of the many new features that Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, is working on. Last month, it was announced that the application is developing new tabs that will separate contact groups from individual contacts, making it easier to quickly access favorites. The launch of a function that will allow you to send messages to other applications and use WhatsApp on tablets is also planned.
