The new HMD Pulse smartphones offer up to 59 hours of autonomy and a design that facilitates repairs

HMD has launched the first series of smartphones under its own brand, HMD Pulse, Composed of three models that offer up to 59 hours of autonomy and stand out for the facilities that allow the users themselves to repair the devices with iFixit.

The Finnish firm is known for being the manufacturer of Nokia brand mobile phones, but in September 2023 it shared its intention to introduce a own and original brand in the mobile device market, that will coexist with that of Nokia.

In this sense, HMD has presented the first series of ‘smartphones’ under its original brand, HMD Pulse, which consists of the Pulse, Pulse+ and Pulse Pro models.

The new ‘smartphones’ are all three equipped with a Unisoc T606 processor but they differ in memory configurations: Pulse arrives with 4GB of RAM, which is expanded up to 6, and 64GB of capacity, while Pulse+ and Pulse Pro offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory.

The design is very similar across the entire series of smartphones. As HMD has detailed, they have been designed with “elegant and modern” lines, which materialize in a smooth back with a metallic finish and rounded corners.

The HMD Pulse model has been launched in the pink and black colors. For its part, the version HMD Pulse+ It can be purchased in the colors orange and black and the HMD Pulse Pro in the colors green, purple and black.

These devices have a 6.65-inch screen with an LCD panel and HD+ resolution. Likewise, they achieve a refresh rate of 90Hz and reach a maximum brightness of 600 nits.

On the other hand, in relation to photography capabilities, the model stands out HMD Pulse Pro which has a 50MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. Additionally, it includes a 50 MP front camera to take ‘selfies’.

This front camera is accompanied by functions such as beauty effect optimized for different skin tones, as well as with selfie gesture function with which the smartphone will recognize the users’ hands in specific positions to automatically take a photograph.

The company has also introduced a 50 MP rear main camera on the model HMD Pulse+. However, in the standard version the main lens descends to 13 MP. As for the front camera, both devices use a 8 MP.

The technology firm has developed that the battery of the new smartphones has a power of 5,000 mAhwith which it ensures a autonomy of up to 59 hours. They also have fast wired charging, with a power of 20W on HMD Pulse Pro model and 10W in the case of Pulse+ and Pulse models.

This new series of HMD uses a Android 14 based operating system and offers two years of system updates and three years of security updates.
